One or more Power Seat Motors do not Operate

DESCRIPTION

When the front power seat switch is operated, a command signal is sent to the position control ECU. The position control ECU then controls the appropriate seat motor as needed. The position control ECU is designed so that a malfunction of the seat memory system will not interfere with manual seat control.

READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT POWER SEAT SWITCH)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream ON.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Driver seat / Data List.

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (POWER SEAT MOTOR)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream ON.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Driver Seat / Active Test.

(e) According to the display on the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

INSPECT FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (POWER SEAT MOTOR)

(a) Remove the front seat assembly LH SEAT: FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat): REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia) .

(b) Check operation of the sliding motor.

(1) Check if the seat moves smoothly when the battery is connected to the sliding motor connector terminals.

OK:

(a) Disconnect the X10 switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the X5, X6, X7 and X8 motor connectors.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
